Preparation for Indian garlic mushrooms

  • Add garlic, red chillies, vinegar, sugar, salt, red chilli powder to a blender jar and blend them into a fine paste. Add 1 to 2 tbsps water to dilute the paste.
  • Once it reaches a rich paste-like consistency, set it aside. An alternative to this blending method is to mix up red chilli powder, minced garlic and the rest of the ingredients with water as needed. However, this paste would a little course as compared to the prior.

How to make garlic mushrooms?

  • Heat a pan with Sundew sunflower oil. When the oil is hot enough, add mace or cumin.
  • Wait for 30 seconds, add onions and saute until it turns golden
  • While the onions fry, rinse the mushrooms and carefully squeeze extra water without smashing it.
  • Chop the mushrooms into small pieces.
  • Add in the garlic sauce and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Ensure that this mixture doesn't burn
  • Wait till the raw smell of garlic is replaced by the aromas of spices
  • Add the sliced mushrooms and saute for 2 to 3 mins.
  • Cover and cook on medium to low heat until the mushrooms are cooked to perfection.
  • Transfer garlic mushrooms to a serving plate and garnish with coriander leaves and onions.
